Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal
Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal is the one address at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol where a hotel room is on the same side of security as the gates. It occupies the upper level of Lounge 3, at the start of the F pier, opposite the KLM Crown Lounge, and it exists for exactly one purpose: a real bed and a shower between two flights without leaving the transit zone. With 32 rooms it is small, so it books out on busy days.

Guest Rooms
The 32 rooms come in two sizes, a Standard Single at about 12 sq.m. and a Standard Double at about 16 sq.m., plus one accessible room. Both are sold by the night and by the day block, and the hotel has also offered shower-only bookings for passengers who only need to freshen up.

Rooms are compact and quiet, with a bathroom with a rain shower, air conditioning, a desk, a TV and free Wi-Fi. There is space for cabin bags but not for checked suitcases, which cannot be brought airside in any case. Check-out after a night stay is at 9:00 am, with later times possible if agreed with reception.
Standard room amenities include:
- Air conditioning
- Bathroom amenities
- Desk
- Free Wi-Fi
- Hair dryer
- TV
Breakfast and Dining
There is no restaurant inside the hotel; the terminal is the restaurant. Breakfast is delivered to the room by Bread, a bakery-café in the lounge, or taken away from the counter, and 24-hour room service and drinks are available from reception. Lounge 3 has cafés, bars and restaurants a minute or two from the door.

Facilities and Services
The reception is staffed 24 hours a day and handles wake-up calls, which matter here more than anywhere else at the airport. Free Wi-Fi covers the rooms. There is no gym, pool or spa; the point of the hotel is the location, and the airport’s own lounges, showers and shops fill the rest.

Location and Transportation
The hotel is airside in Lounge 3, reached after security and, for non-Schengen passengers, after passport control, on the route to the D, E, F, G and H gates. Guests need a valid passport and a boarding pass or ticket for a flight on the same or the following day; no Schengen visa is needed for a transit stay because the guest never enters the Netherlands. Passengers arriving from a Schengen flight and departing to a Schengen destination can also use it. Hand luggage only.
Because the hotel is inside the terminal there is no shuttle, no taxi and no train to think about. Anyone with a long layover who wants the city instead can read our Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal guide: the station is under Schiphol Plaza, on the landside.
Nearby Alternatives
YOTELAIR Amsterdam Schiphol is the other airside option, with cabins in Lounge 2 sold by the hour. On the landside, citizenM Schiphol Airport is a four-minute walk from Arrivals for a bigger room at a similar price, and the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel is two minutes from Schiphol Plaza on the covered walkway.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a visa or to pass immigration to stay at the Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal?
No. The hotel is airside, after security and passport control, so a transit passenger stays without entering the Netherlands. You need a valid passport and a ticket for a flight the same or the next day.
Can I bring my checked suitcase to the hotel?
No. Only hand luggage fits the rooms and the airside location; larger bags stay checked through with the airline or go into the terminal's baggage storage on the landside.
Can I book a room for a few hours?
Yes. The hotel sells day rooms as well as overnight stays, and short shower bookings have been offered too. Check-out for night stays is early, at 9:00 am, unless a later time is agreed in advance.
